We Make, fresh, delicious food the
old-fashioned way!

Our new Lucky’s Drive-In location is in the Curtis Park area of Sacramento.
We are in the old Hideaway Bar and Grill building off Franklin and Broadway, just down the street from Gunther’s Ice Cream.
We make our burgers and fries to order so everything is just how you like it!

We just opened and can’t wait to meet you all! :)
We are excited to introduce our food to all of you!!

We will also have on the property, a 1960 double decker bus!
You may have driven by and caught a peek of it, hanging out to the side of our building. the bus used to be a visitors center in San Francisco back in the day. We found it on Craigslist in Redding and had it transported down here to Sacramento. We have a vintage bus at our Tacoma location that is our dining room. Here in Sacramento, this vintage bus will be more seating for the restaurant.

how did lucky’s come to be?

Well, it started at a pizza shop, in a small town with two stop lights, in 1994. 🙂

That’s when Mike and I met.

I remember standing in the walk-in refrigerator with him, each picking the tomatoes off our sandwiches. Our born-in dislike of that red, savory, fruit, brought us together 🙂.

Then, he used his wit to entice me, took me on a movie date, and destiny ensued.

How did we make it all these years?

Laughter and fun.
Willingness. To be, to do, to change, to go, to stay, to listen.
Self reflection.
Conversation.
Dedication.
RESPECT.

So, we had our foundation. Then, in 2015, we started our first restaurant, Lucky’s Drive-In.

We were 20 years into this romantic partnership. We worked side by side, 80+ hrs a week for the first five years of Lucky’s.

And you know what? It made our relationship even stronger.

We were, together, accomplishing a single goal, using all of our combined skills and knowledge.

Shaping Lucky’s into exactly what we wanted.
Cultivating people and processes.
Creating a community spot.
Giving people happiness through food and connection.

Without that meeting, in the walk-in refrigerator, in 1994, there would be no Lucky’s Drive-In.
No Lucky burgers, no Lucky fries, and no Lucky shakes. NOOOOOO!!!!

Can you imagine life without our fries??? LET’S NOT.

Lucky for everyone, destiny stepped in and brought the two of us into this partnership.
And here we are, 30 years later, at work, still talking about tomatoes. 🙂
